Solarity's Give Back Program

We believe it is our responsibility to give back to the community. A strong community fosters workplace culture and builds enduring relationships with civic and business leaders, organizations and residents, in order to improve the communities where we live and work.

Employees Give Back

Solarity is in the business of making change. Not just in the literal monetary sense, but in our communities. As a credit union, we are a financial cooperative. A financial cooperative means that we pool our resources to better the whole. We believe it is our responsibility to not only improve the lives of our members, but to also invest in our communities. Many of our employees donate their time and their talents to help make that impact. Solarity employees are a generous bunch, and through the Solarity employee contribution program, employees donated more than $16,000 in 2022 to our community partners.

Yakima Humane Society

Animals are near and dear to our hearts, and we believe they deserve a home of their own, too. That's why it was a no brainer to partner with the Humane Society. The Yakima Humane Society is committed to ending animal suffering and cruelty, reducing animal overpopulation and educating the public regarding responsible pet ownership. Every year, the Yakima Humane Society saves more than 5,000 animals.

YWCA of Yakima

Solarity is a women-led organization that believes "Everyone deserves a place of their own to call home." So, partnering with YWCA Yakima is a great way to combine forces. YWCA is an organization dedicated to eliminating racism, empowering women and promoting peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all. YWCA Yakima is focused on providing services to domestic violence victims that allow them to become self-sufficient survivors. YWCA Yakima operates a 14-room emergency shelter for domestic violence victims and their children as well as 16 transitional housing units.

Mercy Housing Northwest

We understand that not everyone has a home of their own, and for us to truly embrace our vision, we needed to make sure we partnered with people who helped shelter those who need it most. Mercy Housing is redefining affordable, low-income housing. By renovating existing housing, as well as developing new affordable rental properties, Mercy Housing is able to provide over 5,000 families and seniors a place to call home at below-market rent.

ShelterBox

Solarity members are all over the country so we wanted to make sure that our impact was too. ShelterBox is a global organization made up of people who believe in shelter as a human right. This is why ShelterBox provides tools that enable people to rebuild homes and transform their lives. In 2019 ShelterBox assisted more than 145,000 people in need of shelter and humanitarian aid after being displaced by a disaster.
