118 Solarity employees spent the morning of June 19 volunteering with nonprofit organizations across Central Washington during Juneteenth Community Give Back Day, supporting projects that will benefit local families, seniors, animals and neighborhoods.

Employees from Yakima, Wenatchee and Moses Lake partnered with Yakima Habitat for Humanity, O.I.C. of Washington, Canyon Blooms Petals for Patients, Yakima Humane Society, YWCA Yakima and Habitat for Humanity in Quincy.

Across the region, Solarity employees:

  • Prepared 360 boxes of groceries at O.I.C. of Washington for distribution through upcoming food pantry events.
  • Walked more than 60 dogs at Yakima Humane Society and donated pet food, bowls and toys to help care for animals waiting for their forever homes.
  • Created more than 100 floral arrangements at Canyon Blooms Petals for Patients that were delivered to local senior centers. Volunteers also weeded, prepared garden beds and seeded and harvested flowers.
  • Cleaned four transitional housing units and assisted with grounds maintenance at YWCA Yakima.
  • Organized clothing sections, rearranged displays and stocked new merchandise at Habitat for Humanity in Quincy, helping improve the shopping experience that supports the organization's mission.
  • Assisted with projects at Yakima Habitat for Humanity that support affordable housing in the community.

"Impact has always been an important part of Solarity's culture and is one of our core values," said Mina Worthington, President and CEO of Solarity. "Community Give Back Day allows our team to support the organizations and causes that make a meaningful impact in the lives of our neighbors. We are proud to serve these communities every day, and we're equally proud to roll up our sleeves and contribute in ways that go beyond financial services."

The organizations that welcomed our teams provide essential services to people throughout Central Washington every day. We're grateful for the opportunity to support their work and appreciate everyone who helped make Community Give Back Day a success.

Giving back is one of the ways Solarity invests in the communities we serve. Whether through volunteer service, community partnerships or financial support, we're committed to helping strengthen the places our members, employees and neighbors call home.
