We don't just talk about change; we make it happen

At Solarity, we believe in action, not just words. That's why we are proud to present our annual Community Impact Report – a testament to our unwavering commitment to the communities of Yakima and Kittitas Counties, as well as the surrounding areas we proudly serve.

From providing our members with keys to their forever homes to supporting critical causes through donations and sponsorships, our journey this past year was all about making a positive difference. But that's not all. Our incredible staff also dedicated their time and energy to volunteer initiatives that warmed hearts and brightened lives.

We look forward to sharing the remarkable stories and achievements that define Solarity's role as a force for good in our neighborhoods for many years to come.

Mina Worthington holding LennonSolarity Credit Union’s president and CEO, Mina Worthington, was thrilled to gift 16-month-old, Lennon, with a brand new, hot pink electric toy Jeep! In addition, Solarity donated $39,000 to the Memorial Foundation, which ensures sweet babies like Lennon get the care and services they need.

Lennon, a pediatric patient at MultiCare Yakima Memorial Hospital, was treated in the hospital’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). From the moment she was born on January 5, 2022, Lennon struggled to breathe and needed to be intubated as the medical experts worked to get her oxygen levels up. After a scary week for her parents, the exceptionally skilled doctors and nurses got Lennon on track to being a happy and healthy baby.

"It was so wonderful meeting sweet Lennon. It’s incredible to see children like her thriving thanks to our local medical professionals,” said Worthington. “Solarity is beyond proud to support the mission of the Memorial Foundation. We think Lennon will have plenty of fun with that new ride.”

The money was raised under the Credit Unions for Kids (CU4Kids) program, a national credit union initiative that raises funds and awareness for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals®. Solarity Credit Union has supported children’s health services through the Memorial Foundation for more than 30 years.

Lennon with her family"We are grateful for the continued support from Solarity Credit Union,” said Erin Black, CEO of the Memorial Foundation. "This donation will make a direct impact on the more than 30,000 kids across Central Washington who will receive care locally through MultiCare Yakima Memorial this year.”

Lennon’s Mom shares, “We are forever grateful to MultiCare Yakima Memorial Hospital and our incredible doctors and nurses who saved our daughter’s life. Because of the NICU, we have a healthy, happy and thriving baby girl who is meeting all of her milestones and was the missing piece to complete our family."

Enjoy your new wheels, Lennon, and keep thriving!
